Marriott International Signs Luxury Hotel Deals in Vietnam

Hotels & Resorts

The group has recently revealed contracts for three properties in Vietnam, bringing its signature brand of opulence to the country.

These newly negotiated contracts are widely seen as heralding the arrival of two new brands to the Vietnamese landscape: the Ritz-Carlton Reserve and The Luxury Collection, both of which will make their home on Phu Quoc's Hon Thom Island's sandy shores. The third JW Marriott hotel in Vietnam will be built in Trang An, a tranquil UNESCO World Heritage refuge in the country's northernmost region.

These new agreements were officially signed by Marriott International President and CEO Anthony Capuano at receptions in Hanoi and Phu Quoc during his latest trip to Vietnam. Marriott International President Rajeev Menon and Area Vice President Jakob Helgen for Thailand, Vietnam, and Cambodia also attended the meeting. The agreements were overseen by BITEXCO Group and Sun Group Chairmen Vu Quang Hoi and Dang Minh Truong, respectively.

The deals were closed because both local and international demand for luxury travel in Vietnam is on the rise. Travellers from all over the world go to Vietnam because of its many unique cultural and natural attractions. A growing portion of the local market is interested in high-end vacations, which is increasing demand for international luxury labels. The agreements highlight the group's commitment to developing Vietnam as a destination for high-end tourism and hospitality.

Newly proposed projects by Marriott International in Vietnam are as follows:

In 2028, the JW Marriott Trang An Resort and Spa will open its doors to guests. This five-star resort is being built by the same company responsible for the JW Marriott Hotel Hanoi, and it will be situated among tropical wetlands and rolling hills. There will be 35 one- and two-bedroom villas, as well as 150 rooms and suites, at this five-star resort. Two restaurants, a café, a lobby lounge, and two bars are also in the works. The hotel will include a flagship Spa by JW, as well as two pools, a kids' club, an outdoor playground, a leisure centre, a gym, and a playground.

Sun Group's Hon Thom Island resort, now known as The Luxury Collection Resort, will join The Luxury Collection family in 2029. Located on the north-west shore of Hon Thom Island, the hotel will have 305 rooms and suites. Two pools, a children's club, an activity centre, a fitness centre, and a spa with seven treatment rooms, whirlpools, saunas, and steam rooms are all on the list of planned facilities. There are six restaurants and bars accessible, offering a wide variety of cuisines and drinks.

Hon Thom Island, Ritz-Carlton Reserve will also open in 2028. It's marketed as a place where visitors may completely unwind in the midst of opulence and natural splendour. Located on a private estate on the southern point of Hon Thom Island, it will provide breathtaking views of the sea and the islands to the south of Phu Quoc. There are 40 pool villas for guests to choose from, as well as a spa, salon, gym, three dining establishments, and three pubs. Jean-Michel Cousteau's teaching program, Ambassadors of the Environment, will host events for children and include a two-story entertainment centre and garden. For those who dream of tying the knot in paradise, there will be a 300 square meter event room perfect for a seaside ceremony.
