LOT Polish Airlines Breaks Passenger Record in July 2025 with Over 1.18 Million Travelers

LOT Polish Airlines just had its best month ever in its 96-year history. In July 2025, they welcomed more than 1.18 million passengers. With over 11,000 flights and 15.5 million kilometers covered, LOT is growing as a big hub in European and transatlantic aviation. People traveling from places like Vilnius, London, Toronto, and Chicago are choosing LOT more than ever because of new routes, modern planes, and a plan to grow and be reliable.
This summer was a big one for LOT Polish Airlines! In July 2025, they flew 1,185,946 passengers, the most they’ve ever had in a single month in their 96-year history. That's over 144,000 more passengers than their previous record in 2023. It seems like a lot more people are flying these days, especially around Europe.
But it wasn't just about filling seats. LOT also had the most flights, flight hours, and miles flown in July than ever before. Their crews worked 11,072 flights, spending 25,623 hours in the air and going 15.5 million kilometers. That’s like flying around the world 400 times, or going to the moon and back 20 times!
Where are people going?
A lot of people flew to Vilnius, London, and Amsterdam within Europe. And for longer trips, Toronto, New York (JFK), and Chicago were popular destinations in North America. It shows that flying between Poland and North America is becoming more popular.
Adding new routes, like Warsaw to Lisbon, Reykjavik, and Malta, and Kraków to Paris Orly, really helped bring in more passengers. Soon, you'll be able to fly LOT to Marrakesh and Rovaniemi too!
New Planes on the Way
LOT is also getting some new planes. Later this year, they're getting their first Boeing 737 MAX 8s (13 in total). In 2027, they'll start getting Airbus A220s. They ordered 40 of these planes earlier in 2025, and might even get 44 more. These new planes will replace the older, smaller jets, making your flight more comfy and eco-friendly.
And if you're flying far, you'll still be on the Boeing 787 Dreamliners, which fly between Warsaw and cities in the United States, Canada, India, Japan, and South Korea.
What does it mean for you?
If you're flying with LOT, you'll have more choices. Warsaw Chopin Airport is becoming a bigger and bigger hub, with about 60% of LOT passengers using it to connect to other flights. With more routes, more flights, and newer planes, it's easier to fly between Central Europe and the rest of the world.
Here's what you can expect:
- More places to go, and more flights to those places
- More comfy flights with the new Boeing 737 MAX 8 and Airbus A220 planes
- Good service to North American cities
- A focus on being eco-friendly with newer planes
The Future Looks Good
LOT's CEO, Michał Fijoł, said that this record was due to his team's hard work. He believes their plan to grow from their Warsaw hub is paying off. As LOT keeps growing and getting new planes, they're becoming an important airline in Europe.
This means that there will be more chances to travel with a reliable airline whether it's a quick trip in Europe or a long trip across the Atlantic.
