Emirates has unveiled a new generation of Premium Economy seating featuring electrically adjustable controls and a full-height privacy divider between seats.
The new product is debuting on newly delivered Airbus A350 aircraft and, according to Emirates, represents the world’s first electrically powered Premium Economy seat with a full-height adjustable privacy screen.
The cabin features just 28 Premium Economy seats arranged in a 2-3-2 configuration.
Each seat measures 20 inches wide and offers up to 39 inches of pitch, while a cradle-style recline allows passengers to relax without the seatback intruding into the space of the passenger behind.
Electric Privacy Screens Give Passengers More Personal Space
The headline feature is an electrically operated divider positioned between each seat.
Passengers can raise or lower the privacy screen using integrated seat controls and lock it into their preferred position. When fully extended, the divider reaches the full height of the seat, creating additional separation while passengers work, dine or rest.
The seat itself is also electrically adjustable through an integrated Passenger Control Unit, with preset positions including lounge and meal modes.
Emirates has also added Safran Seats’ U-Dream headrest, featuring adjustable wings designed to provide additional neck and head support.
A manually operated leather footrest provides additional leg support.
Wireless Charging Comes to Emirates Premium Economy
The new seats introduce wireless device charging to Emirates Premium Economy for the first time.
Each passenger also receives a USB-C charging connection and a tray table featuring an integrated smartphone holder, allowing a phone to be positioned as a second screen.
Entertainment is provided through a 13.3-inch 4K HDR touchscreen running Emirates’ ice inflight entertainment system.
Newly delivered A350 aircraft will also feature additional exterior camera views. Left- and right-facing cameras join the existing forward and downward views available through the inflight entertainment system.
Emirates Continues to Push Premium Economy Toward Business Class
The new seat builds on the wider Premium Economy service Emirates has been developing since introducing the cabin in 2022.

Passengers receive regionally inspired meals served on Royal Doulton china with linen napkins and Robert Welch stainless-steel cutlery.
The airline’s Premium Economy drinks selection includes Chandon Vintage Brut 2021, while additional wines are being introduced on selected routes.
From September, passengers on certain services can choose Chablis Premier Cru Jean-Marc Brocard 2024 or La Parde de Haut-Bailly 2014.
Beginning in October, Emirates will also serve Wiston Estate Brut NV on UK routes, marking the first English sparkling wine offered by the airline. Emirates says it has invested more than US$1 billion in its wine portfolio since 2006.
Long-haul Premium Economy passengers also receive reusable amenity kits developed with United for Wildlife. The latest collection uses bio-based materials and includes plant-based skincare products from Aveda alongside socks, eyeshades, earplugs and a dental kit.
New Seat Debuts on Airbus A350
Emirates launched Premium Economy in 2022 and has gradually expanded the cabin across its fleet and network.
The latest version will initially be installed on newly delivered Airbus A350 aircraft.
With electrically controlled seating, full-height privacy dividers, wireless charging, 4K entertainment screens and a 2-3-2 configuration, Emirates is positioning the new product increasingly close to the experience traditionally associated with Business Class.

The airline’s Premium Economy product has previously received the Best Premium Economy Class award at the Business Traveller Middle East Awards in 2024 and 2025, as well as the Airline with the Best Premium Economy Class title at the 2025 ULTRAs Awards.
