Air Canada will launch a new nonstop route between Toronto and Oslo in June 2027, creating the first-ever direct air service between Canada and Norway.
The seasonal service will begin on June 3, 2027, and operate through late October, strengthening Oslo Airport’s long-haul network and providing a new direct connection between Norway and North America.
Air Canada plans to operate four weekly flights on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays using its new Airbus A321XLR aircraft.
The aircraft will accommodate 182 passengers.

Toronto Offers Connections Across North America
Flights from Toronto Pearson International Airport will depart at 8:30 p.m. and arrive at Oslo Airport at 10:00 a.m. the following morning.
Return flights will leave Oslo at 12:15 p.m. and arrive in Toronto at 2:20 p.m. local time.
In addition to providing direct access to Canada’s largest city, the service will give Norwegian passengers connections through Air Canada’s Toronto hub to destinations across Canada and the United States.
Passengers connecting to U.S. destinations can also use U.S. preclearance facilities in Toronto, completing immigration and customs formalities before departing Canada.
“Air Canada is bolstering its position in Scandinavia with the addition of Oslo, expanding our network to be the only North American carrier to serve all three Scandinavian capitals,” said Mark Galardo, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer and President, Cargo at Air Canada.
The airline said the long-range capabilities of the Airbus A321XLR will enable it to connect markets such as Oslo with its North American network using a narrowbody aircraft.
New Route Expected to Support Tourism to Norway
Avinor expects the route to support inbound tourism by making Norway easier to reach for travelers from Canada and the wider North American market.

Avinor has been working to attract additional long-haul services to Oslo and sees the Toronto route as an important step in developing new intercontinental markets.
The airport operator also expects growing North American interest in Norway to support the route, including increased travel exposure surrounding the FIFA World Cup hosted across Canada, Mexico and the United States.
