SAS Adds Special Direct Oslo–Miami Flight for Norway’s World Cup Quarter-Final

SAS is adding a special direct return flight from Oslo to Miami after Norway’s remarkable victory over Brazil in the FIFA World Cup, giving Norwegian supporters a direct way to attend the quarter-final against England on July 11.

The flight departs Oslo Airport on Friday, July 10 at 13:00 and arrives in Miami at 17:10 local time, with the return departing Miami International Airport on Sunday, July 12 at 18:00 and landing back in Oslo at 09:05 on Monday. The quarter-final itself kicks off at Miami

Stadium at 23:00 Norwegian time on Saturday, July 11. The flight operates on an Airbus A330 with 266 seats available, and tickets are already on sale at SAS.no and in the SAS app.

“We have acted quickly after Norway’s incredible performance and want to make it as easy and comfortable as possible for supporters to get to the quarter-final against England,” said Øystein Schmidt, Press Officer at SAS. “SAS has a strong tradition of providing extra capacity when football-mad Norwegians go on the road, and we are delivering again now.”

The move follows SAS’s broader preparation for the tournament. When the World Cup groups were drawn last autumn, the airline had already increased transatlantic capacity and switched to larger aircraft on key routes to the US, anticipating high demand from Norwegian fans. SAS currently operates 11 destinations in the US and Canada from Oslo, including two daily direct flights to New York.

The A330 used for the Miami charter is the same aircraft type SAS announced last week it will invest heavily in, as part of what the airline described as the largest fleet order in its history, valued at a list price of around NOK 100 billion.
SAS is celebrating its 80th anniversary in 2026.
