Emirates Brings A380 to Delhi and Expands Premium Economy Across India

Emirates is significantly upgrading its India operations from October 25, introducing its flagship A380 to Delhi and rolling out Premium Economy to six Indian cities — the most comprehensive expansion of the product in the country to date.

Delhi becomes the third Indian gateway to receive A380 service, joining Mumbai and Bengaluru. The aircraft will operate on flights EK512/513 in a four-class configuration, with Premium Economy also available across the three other daily Delhi–Dubai services operated by retrofitted Boeing 777s. This means all daily flights between Delhi and Dubai will feature Premium Economy from October.

Kolkata gets a major upgrade too, with the route switching from Boeing 777 to Emirates’ next-generation Airbus A350 on the daily EK570/571 service, while five weekly flights continue on a four-class retrofitted 777. The result is Premium Economy available across all 12 weekly Kolkata–Dubai services.

By the end of October, Premium Economy will be offered across six Indian cities: Delhi (four daily services), Kolkata (12 weekly), Mumbai (22 weekly), Ahmedabad (nine weekly), Bengaluru (seven weekly), and Kochi (two weekly).

“We are pleased to introduce our highly anticipated A380 services to Delhi, a vital gateway in our network,” said Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer. “We are also making our Premium Economy product more widely available across India to reach six gateways and close to half of our scheduled weekly flights.”

On the ground, Emirates has recently opened retail travel stores in Delhi and Mumbai, with Hyderabad and Bengaluru stores to follow alongside a dedicated Mumbai call centre. In the air, regionally inspired menus, multilingual cabin crew, and over 6,500 entertainment channels including Bollywood content in Hindi and multiple regional languages are part of the India-specific service offering.

Emirates currently serves nine Indian gateways with 167 weekly flights, connecting passengers to its global network of nearly 140 destinations.
