Schiphol and STMPD RCRDS bring Amsterdam Dance Event to the airport

Schiphol and STMPD RCRDS bring Amsterdam Dance Event to the airport

Amsterdam’s electronic music scene is heading to Schiphol on Wednesday 21 October, with a surprise performance for travellers and an evening event organised with record label STMPD RCRDS.

The collaboration will bring a taste of Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) to passengers arriving in or passing through the airport, giving some an early introduction to the festival before they reach the city centre.

Justin Mylo to surprise travellers

DJ Justin Mylo will perform for some travellers at Schiphol during the day. The airport has not announced the exact time or location of the appearance, which is intended as an unexpected addition to passengers’ journeys.

ADE draws around half a million music fans from across the world each year, according to Schiphol. The airport partnership extends the event’s presence beyond Amsterdam’s clubs and music venues to one of the main arrival points for international visitors.

“With this ADE experience at Schiphol, we’re bringing the energy of Amsterdam to the place where, for many visitors, the adventure begins,” said Sander Hengeveld, Head of Brand at Royal Schiphol Group.

Evening event features Julian Jordan and Brooks

A separate event will take place at an exclusive airport location from 20:00 to 23:00 on 21 October. Julian Jordan, Brooks, Citadelle and Nova Blue are scheduled to perform.

Music fans can enter a competition for a chance to attend through the Schiphol and STMPD RCRDS Instagram accounts. The announcement does not disclose the venue within the airport or further entry arrangements.

Founded by Martin Garrix, Amsterdam-based STMPD RCRDS works with artists, producers and songwriters from the Netherlands and abroad.

“During ADE, music fans from all over the world come together in Amsterdam and many of them take their first steps into the city through Schiphol,” the label said. “We are excited to welcome them in a way they would never expect.”

For travellers passing through on 21 October, the partnership offers a chance to encounter Amsterdam’s dance music culture as part of the airport experience. Those hoping to attend the evening performances can find the competition details on the organisers’ social channels.
