From May through September 2026, the aircraft operating the daily Berlin Brandenburg (BER) to Newark (EWR) service will feature 46 seats in United Polaris business class — the airline’s flagship long-haul cabin offering flat-bed seats, wider spacing, and an enhanced service programme. Complementing the business cabin are 22 seats in United Premium Plus, the carrier’s premium economy product.
The move is a direct response to growing demand for premium travel on transatlantic routes, where passengers increasingly seek greater comfort, more legroom, and lie-flat capability for the roughly eight-hour crossing.
The Berlin–Newark route operates year-round on a daily basis, giving the German capital a consistent direct link to one of the United States’ main aviation hubs. From Newark, travellers can connect onward to a wide range of destinations across North, Central, and South America, including Atlanta, Chicago, Miami, and Vancouver.
The enhanced configuration strengthens Berlin Brandenburg’s position as a long-haul gateway, adding premium capacity on one of its most important transatlantic connections ahead of what is expected to be a strong summer travel season.
