In a significant announcement today, Hyatt Hotels Corporation and the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas disclosed their collaboration, marking a new chapter for the Rio as it joins the World of Hyatt loyalty program amidst an expansive $340 million renovation project. The project, set to transition the hotel into the Destination by Hyatt brand by fall 2024, signifies a major enhancement of the hotel's facilities and services, aiming to redefine the guest experience in one of the world's premier leisure and convention destinations.

David Tarr, Hyatt's Senior Vice President of Development in the Americas, expressed enthusiasm about the project, highlighting its goal to infuse the hotel with the unique spirit of Las Vegas while offering guests immersive entertainment and experiences. The renovation underscores Hyatt's commitment to growth in strategic markets, with the Rio set to become the first Destination by Hyatt hotel in Nevada and expand Hyatt’s footprint in the Las Vegas area.

Owned by Dreamscape, the Rio Hotel & Casino's renovation will encompass a complete overhaul of its 2,500 rooms, public spaces, and amenities, aiming to create a vibrant, welcoming environment for both leisure and business travelers. The first phase of the renovation is nearing completion, focusing on the Ipanema tower and several key guest areas.

Eric Birnbaum, founder of Dreamscape, shared his excitement for welcoming World of Hyatt members to the newly revitalized property, emphasizing the Rio's long-standing reputation as a dynamic Las Vegas resort. The renovation aims to introduce the hotel to new visitors while preserving its iconic status.

The renovation plans include modernized suites, enhanced dining and nightlife options, an energized casino floor, and revamped meeting and event spaces, all designed to offer an unparalleled Las Vegas experience. Additionally, from April 1 to June 30, 2024, World of Hyatt members can earn 500 bonus points for every qualifying night at the Rio, further enriching the loyalty program experience.
