Novotel launches global Longevity Week across more than 630 hotels

Novotel will launch its first global Longevity Week in September, introducing a programme of wellness activities, expert-led sessions and in-hotel experiences across more than 630 properties worldwide.

The Accor-owned hotel brand will hold the initiative from September 7 to 13, 2026, focusing on four areas of everyday wellbeing: eating, sleeping, movement and social connection.

The programme is designed around relatively small lifestyle changes rather than intensive wellness regimes, with activities available both to hotel guests and online audiences.

Longevity Week is expected to become an annual event for the brand.

“Longevity Week is about making wellbeing feel approachable again,” said Jean-Yves Minet, Global Brand President of Novotel. “Small actions – sleeping better, moving a little more, eating more consciously or genuinely connecting with people – can have a powerful impact over time.”

Global study finds growing interest in long-term wellbeing

The launch follows a Novotel-commissioned study involving 13,000 respondents across 12 countries, which examined attitudes towards health, wellness and longevity.

According to the research, 71% of respondents said they are more interested in their future wellbeing than they were five years ago.

A balanced diet was identified by 64% as an important factor for longevity, followed by good-quality sleep at 62% and regular exercise at 60%.

However, the survey also found a gap between understanding healthy habits and maintaining them. Around 76% of respondents said they wished they lived a healthier lifestyle, while 47% wanted to improve their exercise habits and 45% their sleep.

The growing volume of health information available online also appears to be creating confusion. Two-thirds of respondents said social media makes it harder to determine which health advice to trust, while 37% reported previously following a sleep trend that they later discovered was not supported by science.

Travel could play a role in wellbeing

Novotel’s research also examined the relationship between travel and perceived wellbeing.

More than half of respondents, 51%, said they feel more relaxed while on holiday, while 24% reported sleeping better when travelling than they do at home.

Respondents said the positive effects of a holiday lasted for an average of 5.6 days after returning home.

“These findings reinforce the growing importance of wellbeing as consumers around the world place greater emphasis on longevity, with sleep, health and everyday lifestyle habits increasingly viewed as essential foundations for living longer and living better,” Minet said.

Athletes and wellness experts join Novotel 37 Collective

The programme will be led by the newly created Novotel 37 Collective, bringing together experts and athletes from fields including nutrition, sleep, sport and marine conservation.

Olympic gold medal-winning surfer Kauli Vaast will focus on movement, while Australian sleep expert and author Olivia Arezzolo will provide guidance on rest and recovery.

British food creator Alfie Steiner will lead the programme’s plant-forward food content, and former Paris Saint-Germain footballer Javier Pastore will discuss performance, recovery and human connection.

Marine conservation biologist and ocean photographer Kaushiik Subramaniam, who became Novotel’s Ocean Defender in June 2026, completes the group.

The “37” concept refers to the idea that improving by 1% each day can compound to roughly 37 times over a year. Novotel has therefore scheduled the event for the 37th week of 2026.

Free masterclasses scheduled throughout the week

Each weekday will feature a different online session based around Novotel’s Eat, Sleep, Move and Meet pillars.

The programme begins on September 7 with Alfie Steiner and Kaushiik Subramaniam discussing marine ingredients, food and ocean health.

Kauli Vaast will host a movement masterclass on September 8, followed by a plant-forward cooking session with Steiner on September 9.

Olivia Arezzolo will lead a breathwork and sleep session on September 10, while Javier Pastore will close the weekday programme on September 11 with a discussion about connection, balance and recovery.

Sessions will be streamed free of charge through Novotel’s social channels and will be accessible to both hotel guests and people participating from home.

Longevity Week rolls out across Novotel hotels

The initiative will also extend into Novotel’s network of more than 630 hotels, with participating properties offering activities for guests and families alongside QR-based wellness content that can be accessed after a stay.

Novotel will use the week to promote its Oh My Greens! plant-forward dining programme. Members of Accor’s ALL loyalty programme can earn points when selecting eligible plant-forward dishes at participating Novotel restaurants.

The initiative forms part of Novotel’s broader “Longevity Everyday” positioning, as the brand increasingly incorporates wellness, nutrition and lifestyle concepts into its hotel offering.

“Half of today’s five-year-olds could live to 100,” Minet said. “The real question is no longer about living longer; it’s about living better.”
