Iberia has launched Starlink-powered Wi-Fi on its first equipped aircraft, a flight to São Paulo registered as EC-MAA, becoming the first Spanish airline to offer SpaceX’s satellite internet technology on board.
The service is free for all passengers in every cabin — Economy, Premium Economy, and Business — and will be available gate to gate, from boarding through to arrival. Speeds of up to 500 Mbps will support high-bandwidth activities including live streaming, video calls, online gaming, and remote working across multiple devices simultaneously.
The rollout across Iberia’s fleet will take place progressively over the next two years, enabled by the strategic partnership that parent group IAG signed with Starlink in November 2025.
“We know that staying connected gate-to-gate is very important for our customers, whether they are travelling for business or leisure, and, thanks to this new service, we will significantly enhance their onboard experience,” said Beatriz Guillén, Iberia’s Director of Customer Experience.
The introduction of Starlink forms part of Iberia’s Flight Plan 2030 strategy, which includes €6 billion in planned investments across customer experience, artificial intelligence, fleet renewal, and the development of Ciudad Iberia, an aviation innovation hub in Madrid.
