IHG has opened Holiday Inn & Suites Commerce City-Denver Airport in Colorado, marking the first newly built prototype hotel to introduce Holiday Inn’s latest lobby design.
The 106-room property is located in Commerce City, less than 10 minutes from Denver International Airport, and offers a complimentary airport shuttle. Developed by NibbleNook Hospitality, the pet-friendly hotel targets business, group and leisure travellers visiting the Denver area.
The opening forms part of a broader update of the Holiday Inn brand ahead of its 75th anniversary in 2027, with IHG investing in new designs, dining concepts and more flexible public spaces across the portfolio.
New Holiday Inn Lobby Concept Makes Its Debut
At the centre of the new hotel is a redesigned lobby that brings the front desk, food ordering counter and full-service bar together in a single hub.
The concept is intended to simplify the arrival experience while creating a public space that can serve different purposes throughout the day. IHG said the layout is also designed to improve operational efficiency for hotel owners.
Flexible spaces around the lobby provide areas for guests to work, meet or socialise, while adaptable meeting facilities, catering options and happy hour offerings cater to business travellers and groups.
“For nearly 75 years, Holiday Inn has welcomed generations of travelers with comfort, value and genuine hospitality,” said Meredith Moore, Vice President of Global Holiday Inn by IHG.
“As we approach this milestone anniversary, we remain focused on evolving the brand for today’s travelers while staying true to what has made Holiday Inn one of the world’s most trusted hotel brands.”
Moore said the new Commerce City property reflects that strategy by combining updated public spaces and food and beverage options with the familiar Holiday Inn experience.
106 Rooms Close to Denver International Airport
Guest rooms at Holiday Inn & Suites Commerce City-Denver Airport have been divided into dedicated zones for working, relaxing and sleeping.
Rooms include workspaces and lounge areas, blackout shades and upgraded bedding, alongside a range of in-room amenities.
Elsewhere, the hotel features an indoor heated swimming pool, a 24-hour fitness centre and an outdoor patio with a fire pit and lounge seating. Complimentary Wi-Fi and coffee are available, while electric vehicle charging facilities have also been installed.
Its location provides access to Denver-area employers and healthcare institutions, as well as youth sports facilities and leisure attractions.
Mile High Landing Restaurant Opens at the Hotel
The property introduces an updated version of Holiday Inn’s food and beverage offering.
Guests have access to an enhanced breakfast buffet, while Mile High Landing restaurant serves dinner with a menu focused on American dishes designed for sharing. The full-service bar offers cocktails, beer and wine and doubles as a space where guests can work or relax throughout the day.
Holiday Inn is retaining its longstanding Kids Stay and Eat Free benefit as part of the updated concept.
Pawan Kharbanda and Mohit Kumar, Managing Members of NibbleNook Hospitality, said the development was intended to combine Holiday Inn’s established brand recognition with locally based independent ownership.
“As owners based in Denver, we didn’t set out simply to build another hotel—we wanted to create a place that becomes part of a guest’s story in this city,” they said.
“Whether someone is arriving for business, beginning a Colorado adventure, or simply needs a comfortable place between journeys, we want them to feel genuinely welcomed from the moment they arrive.”
Holiday Inn Plans Further Rollout of New Design
The Commerce City opening provides an early look at the direction of Holiday Inn as IHG continues to update the brand globally.
Holiday Inn Fort Worth – Fossil Creek is expected to be the next property to open featuring the latest lobby design.
Holiday Inn currently has more than 1,200 hotels operating worldwide, with over 300 additional properties in its development pipeline.
The brand’s ongoing expansion comes as it approaches 75 years since the first Holiday Inn opened in 1952.
