
Carnival Liberty Returns to New Orleans with New Features Following Major Dry Dock

Carnival Cruise Line’s Carnival Liberty is officially back in service from New Orleans after completing a major dry dock that introduced a wide range of enhancements across the ship. The newly upgraded vessel departed on its first week-long Caribbean sailing with guests on Sunday, bringing fresh entertainment options and more comfort for cruisers of all ages.
The most notable additions include:

Heroes Tribute Bar & Lounge – a dedicated space honoring U.S. military service members and their families.

WaterWorks Aqua Park – now featuring new waterslides for family fun.

Cloud9 Spa – fully revitalized with modern décor, upgraded fitness equipment, a new Elemis Boutique, steam rooms, and saunas.

Enhanced Casino – upgraded layout, new slot machines, and table games for gaming enthusiasts.

Youth Spaces – updated gaming stations at Camp Ocean and refreshed spaces at the Arcade and Club O2.
Additional improvements include a Dream Studio for professional photo sessions, an expanded Carnival Adventures desk for booking shore excursions, and an overhauled FUN Shops retail area with new displays and the addition of a High Spirits liquor store.
The dry dock also focused on accessibility upgrades, improving pathways and amenities throughout public areas and select cabins to better serve all guests.
With Carnival Liberty joining Carnival Valor in New Orleans, the city is now home to two revitalized Carnival ships offering popular week-long itineraries to The Bahamas and Western Caribbean. The ship is also set to make its first stop at Celebration Key, Carnival’s new private destination, on July 23, 2025.
