Hilton has opened Motto by Hilton Guadalajara Centro Historico, bringing its lifestyle hotel brand to the historic centre of Guadalajara, Mexico.
The new hotel features 154 rooms and occupies a restored 1950s Art Deco building located one block from Plaza Fundadores, within walking distance of several of Guadalajara’s major cultural attractions.
Owned and developed by Grupo Megaterra, the property becomes the second Motto by Hilton hotel in Mexico and adds to Hilton’s expanding lifestyle portfolio across the Caribbean and Latin America.
Historic Art Deco Building Converted into 154-Room Hotel
The building was originally designed by architect Agustín Acevedo during the 1950s as a residential apartment property.
Its functionalist Art Deco architecture has been retained as part of the conversion, combining elements of the original building with the contemporary design associated with the Motto by Hilton brand.
“The opening of Motto by Hilton Guadalajara Centro Historico marks an exciting milestone as our second Motto property in Mexico and reflects our continued focus on expanding Hilton’s lifestyle portfolio in vibrant destinations across the region,” said Maxime Verstraete, Vice President, Brand Management, Caribbean and Latin America at Hilton.
“Guadalajara is a city defined by culture, creativity and energy, making it a natural fit for the Motto brand.”
Hotel Located in Guadalajara’s Historic Centre
The location puts guests within walking distance of many of Guadalajara’s best-known landmarks.
Plaza Fundadores, which commemorates the founding of the city, is one block from the hotel.
Nearby attractions include Teatro Degollado, Guadalajara Cathedral, Instituto Cultural Cabañas and San Juan Market.
The central location reflects Motto by Hilton’s focus on urban hotels designed around their surrounding neighbourhoods, with public spaces and food and beverage concepts intended to attract both hotel guests and local residents.
Compact Rooms Include Flexible Connecting Options
The hotel’s 154 guest rooms follow Motto’s compact-room concept, using multifunctional furniture to make more efficient use of space.
The property also features Hilton’s Confirmed Connecting Room technology, which allows guests to reserve connecting accommodation at the time of booking rather than requesting it upon arrival.
There are 69 connecting rooms at the Guadalajara hotel, with configurations allowing as many as three rooms to be linked together.
The setup is designed to give families and groups the option of combining several smaller rooms into a larger shared accommodation arrangement while maintaining separate sleeping spaces.
Two Mexican-Inspired Food and Beverage Concepts
Motto by Hilton Guadalajara Centro Historico has opened with two food and beverage venues.
La BienQuerida is the hotel’s full-service restaurant, offering a contemporary interpretation of a traditional Mexican cantina with locally inspired dishes and drinks.
Doña Elvira is a café focused on traditional Mexican breads and artisanal coffee.
Both venues are designed to serve local customers as well as hotel guests, forming part of the property’s neighbourhood-focused approach.
Hilton Continues Expansion Across Latin America
The Guadalajara opening comes as Hilton continues to expand its hotel network throughout Mexico, the Caribbean and Latin America.
The company currently has more than 300 hotels operating across the Caribbean and Latin America, with more than 150 additional properties in various stages of development.
Motto by Hilton Guadalajara Centro Historico also participates in Hilton Honors, allowing members to earn and redeem points and access benefits including member rates and complimentary standard Wi-Fi.
Guests using the Hilton Honors app can also check in digitally, select their room and use a Digital Key where available.
The Guadalajara property strengthens Hilton’s lifestyle offering in Mexico while giving the Motto brand another city-centre location built around compact accommodation, communal spaces and access to the surrounding neighbourhood.
