Frankfurt Airport Celebrates FIFA World Cup with Screenings and Events

Frankfurt Airport is joining the global FIFA World Cup celebrations with a programme of public screenings, themed retail promotions, and interactive activities across its terminals throughout the tournament.

Live and replay screenings will be hosted at Anton & Anni and Falconi’s restaurants in the B non-Schengen food court, as well as at the Origin Bar in Terminal 3’s non-Schengen central marketplace. In the transit area, passengers can challenge themselves at a virtual soccer experience or test their aim at a goal-shooting target wall, with winners receiving prizes or gift certificates from nearby shops.

Staff across all shops and dining venues will exchange their standard uniforms for soccer jerseys representing the tournament’s participating countries, reflecting the diversity of Frankfurt Airport’s workforce while adding to the festive atmosphere.

A dedicated World Cup campaign design runs across the entire terminal, serving as a visual thread connecting passengers, visitors, and employees through the shopping and dining areas. Retailers are also offering World Cup-themed products and special promotions throughout the event.

“Soccer motivates, mesmerizes, and mobilizes. This World Cup summer serves as the ideal framework for a sales promotion campaign as part of our ongoing retail marketing initiatives,” said Babett Stapel, Senior Executive Vice President Retail & Real Estate at Fraport.

Frankfurt Airport operates around 230 retail outlets across its two terminals, encompassing approximately 35,000 square meters of shopping and dining space.
