The Olympic torch has travelled from Switzerland to Brazil with LATAM Airlines


The torch was carried by a Boeing 767-300ER from Geneva to Brazil, as two Brazilian Air Force jets escorted the flight.


The Rio 2016 Olympic Torch Relay is set to tour across 300 cities in Brazil. 13 of them will be served by a LATAM Airbus A319 aircraft featuring the Olympic flame official logo. The 13 cities served by LATAM Airlines are: Teresina, Palmas, São Luís, Imperatriz, Belém, Macapá, Santarém, Boa Vista, Manaus, Rio Branco, Porto Velho, Cuiabá and Campo Grande.


After 95 days, the Olympic Torch will mark the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games held at the Maracanã stadium on August 5th.


LATAM Airlines is the official operator serving both Olympic and Paralympic Games this year, as well as the official sponsor of the Rio 2016 Olympic Torch Relay.
