Former Norwegian records are broken as investments are being made
The low-cost carrier, Norwegian, announces a 17% increase compared to july 2013, this year transporting more than 2.5 million passangers during the same period.
This ranks as number one in the Norwegian monthly records so far.
Taking into account that the overall load factor has reached 88.2%, it becomes rather facile to anticipate the astonishing results.
The increase in passenger numbers has been anticipated, thus, Norwegian has boosted its capacity by 34% which automatically led to a 38% increase in traffic.
“We’re very pleased that the passenger growth continues.
“Even with considerable capacity increase, we manage to fill almost nine out of ten seats.
“Particularly in light of the exceptionally warm weather in Scandinavia in July, the traffic figures are solid.
“We’re also pleased that an increasing number of customers outside of Scandinavia choose to fly with Norwegian,” - Bjørn Kjos, Norwegian chief executive.
A new aircraft has joined the Norwegian fleet this July, a brand new Boeing 737-800.
Throughout this year, a total of 14 similar aircrafts are expected to join the Norwegian fleet, as well as 4 787 Dreamliners.
