China Eastern Airlines with an astonishing Boeing order

China Eastern Airlines has ordered none less than 80 new Boeing 737 aircrafts.

After placing an order for 70 new single-aisle Airbuses, the airline has included the acquisition for 80 B737s for this year's agenda. This last deal includes the standard model as well as the innovative, fuel-efficient B737 MAX.

The order is a record for China Eastern Airlines, the total contract price is estimated to be at around $8 billion.

Part of China Eastern Airlines strategy, the expected orders for the following decade are none less than 80 more A320’s and 115 more B373’s.

Considering that the airline already owns approximately 320 single-aisle aircrafts, the numbers point out to outstanding figures for the following period.

The Chinese market as well as its stake holders are starting to play a major role world-wide, as the investments don’t cease to come year after year. Tourism-wise, as of 2013, the Chinese tourists are the highest spending foreign tourists in the world, with Americans placing 2^nd and Germans 3^rd.

With reinforcements as such, the number of outgoing and incoming flights involving China will get a significant boost. This will inevitably bring them in the spotlight as one of the major tourism stakeholders.
