China's state tourism department has introduced new list of offences that could result in travel ban for uncivilised tourists

As Chinese tourists are popular for their bad behaviour when travelling both abroad and domestically, officials of the China National Tourism Administration have released a definitive list of acts that could result in 5 years travel bans, also known as “the uncivilised behaviour law”.

The list was initially designed to stop Chinese tourists from getting involved in disruptive behaviour while using public transportation of any kind. Damages to public, environmental or historical attractions has also been included in the new law as unwanted behaviour. Gambling and pornography, which are illegal in China also face restrictions for any tourist.

Moreover, “the uncivilised behaviour law” also applies to tour operators, agencies, guides and hospitality representatives in China.

4. Gambling, pornography and drugs
5. Not following official police instructions
6. Endangering wildlife and nature
7. Disturbing other tourists
8. Other unsavoury acts as determined by the State Tourism Department

List for tourism facilities representatives:

1. Falsifying prices or any tourism-related costs
2. Swearing at, beating up or threatening tourists
3. Offending religious, ethnic and cultural groups or habits
