Amadeus launches new tool for aviation sector
Amadeus Airline Cloud Availability system will allow airline data and revenue management to be remotely controlled by airlines to cope with client's requests
The system was operated and tested this year by Lufthansa, by using the Google Cloud Platform, to serve growing customer's demands around the world.
Amadeus Airline Cloud Availability enables clients to real-time search and shop the company's availability offers with 100 per cent accuracy, by synchronizing the airline’s central systems, whilst protecting its system data.
Christophe Baroux, head of cloud platform, south Europe, Middle East & Africa at Google, explains:
“Airlines are facing fluctuating demand which requires the ability to manage a high amount of transactions and strong peaks in traffic.”
Roland Schuetz, Lufthansa's senior vice president, adds:
“Cache-based systems within major shopping engines have certain limitations and they do not accurately reflect our sophisticated revenue management policies.”
The Amadeus solution meets both airline's and channel's needs providing flexibility and efficiency at the same time. The cloud-based dynamic availability solution helps airlines respond the huge demand of customer's search and shopping volumes even in peak periods.
“Amadeus is in a unique position to provide this ready-made solution to all airlines, including our Altéa customers, deploying and operating the same software in distributed instances with native data synchronization. Importantly, this fully includes the application of the most advanced Origin-and-Destination revenue management logic”, declared Herve Couturier, the company's executive vice president of research and development.
