Lufthansa Brings Anniversary Jet and Defense Unit to ILA Berlin

Airlines & Airports

The Lufthansa Group will have a dual presence at the International Aerospace Exhibition (ILA) in Berlin, showcasing its 100th anniversary Airbus A320neo at the Airbus Static Display and presenting Lufthansa Technik Defense's military capabilities in Hall D.

The A320neo, registered D-AING, is part of Lufthansa's special anniversary fleet commemorating the founding of the original Lufthansa a century ago. The aircraft features the iconic Lufthansa crane in an oversized format on a blue fuselage and can be viewed at the Airbus Static Display area (S4).

Lufthansa Technik Defense, established as a dedicated brand in 2023, brings together the group's defense-related maintenance, repair, overhaul, and modification activities for the German Armed Forces and NATO partners. At its 144-square-meter stand in Hall D (Stand 395), the division will present its involvement in several active military programs, including the P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol and anti-submarine warfare aircraft, the PEGASUS signals intelligence system, and the CH-47 Chinook heavy-lift transport helicopter. Lufthansa Technik Defense is also part of the consortium — alongside Lockheed Martin, Rheinmetall, and ESG — providing technical support for Germany's future F-35 fleet.
