Air Corsica Launches Direct Flights from Vienna to Corsica
Air Corsica has launched direct flights from Vienna International Airport to Corsica, with services to Ajaccio beginning on June 7 and a second route to Bastia following on June 14, 2026. Both routes are operated on Airbus A320 aircraft.
The Ajaccio service runs weekly on Sundays until October 4, while the Bastia route operates twice weekly on Wednesdays and Sundays from June 14 to September 30. Flight time from Vienna to either destination is just under two hours.
The new connections give Austrian travelers their first direct air link to Corsica, removing the need to connect through Paris or other French hubs. Ajaccio and Bastia serve as two distinct gateways to the island: Ajaccio, the capital and birthplace of Napoleon, offers Mediterranean old town streets and sheltered bathing bays on the western coast, while Bastia in the north features an old harbour, Italian-influenced architecture, and easy access to the long sandy beaches of the east coast. The south of the island, including the clifftop town of Bonifacio, is around a two-hour drive from Ajaccio.
"Corsica combines the Mediterranean way of life, stunning coastal landscapes and spectacular mountain scenery — and it's just under two hours' flight from Vienna," said Julian Jäger, joint CEO and COO of Vienna Airport.
Marie-Helene Casanova-Servas, Chair of the Supervisory Board of Air Corsica, said the new routes form part of the airline's strategy to grow its international network beyond its public service obligation routes, adding that the airline hopes to extend the programme beyond its current October end date in future seasons.
