WTM 2014 (World Travel Market) the main event for the travel industry world wide, will be extending its opening hours in order to include more businesses during its 35th edition this year.

The event’s first edition has been carried out in 1980. Since then, it has become the main business hub for travel stakeholders world wide.

In order to get a clear view on the subject, just imagine that the WTM 2013 edition has brought together more that 50.000 senior industry executives who have signed business deals of more than $3 billion.

As of the new schedule, this 2014 edition will start at 9am on each of the four days, starting Monday, November 3rd.

The past schedule featured a 10am opening hour, the current program offering an extra hours for discussing and signing business deals.

As far as celebrating the WTM 2014 as the 35th edition, during the Wednesday evening program, participants will get a chance to showcase their destinations, services and cultural heritage.

The schedule for WTM 2014 is:

  • Monday November 3rd: 09:00-18:00

  • Tuesday November 4th: 09:00-18:00

  • Wednesday November 5th: 09:00-20:00

  • Thursday November 6th: 09:00-16:00

The closing hours for the last day have also been modified in order to keep the attendance ratio at its maximum potential.

“We want our exhibitors to be able to share in the long successful history of WTM so are extending the opening hours on the Wednesday evening for exhibitors to host networking parties.

“These events will also give exhibitors the opportunity to showcase the culture and vibrancy of their destinations to their key buyers and visitors.” - Simon Press, World Travel Market senior directorWTM 2014
