TRAVELWIRES.COM started out as a blog about the business of travel and tourism in Africa in 2006. Our aim was to focus on trade news meant to benefit tourism entrepreneurs and industry suppliers. We focused on all matters concerning the operations of business with regards to travel and tourism. Over the years Travelwires has grown and surpassed all our expectations.

Tourism Entrepreneurs
Tourism entrepreneurs are our primary focus and over the years we have had the privilege to meet and network with many in the different sectors of tourism i.e. tour operators, hoteliers, restaurateurs, conference centres, car-rentals and airlines. With the growth of social networks and social network marketing, we have written extensively on how startups and growing businesses can use this new and yet economic way to engage with the customers.

Industry Suppliers
The industry suppliers which we focus on are the lifeblood of the tourism industry. When we started we wanted to highlight the links between suppliers and service providers. We were interested in the suppliers of beds, cutlery, the bedding, furniture, fittings etc. We have now added the hotel designs and décor feature to highlight the inspiration and design work that has gone into the way that hotels end up looking.
