Sure Corporate packages business travel on a single online platform

Sure Corporate – the corporate arm of the Sure Travel group – proved that its Amadeus eTravel Management (AeTM) programme is a leading edge online solution that empowers corporations to manage their corporate travel programmes efficiently and consistently, worldwide.

Amadeus
, one of the largest travel IT companies in the world, specifically built AeTM for travel procurement. Investment in the AeTM system and its associated systems has been in the region of 650 million Euros over a period of three years.

Having successfully completed various pilot projects, AeTM – a South African first – now has a substantial customer base.  The system’s Amadeus platform is formed by over 1,000 of the world’s largest corporations and over 3,000 customer sites form. It is used by travel management companies in 90 countries. Amadeus handles a large amount of traffic, with 1,750,000 bookings and 210,000,000 transactions daily. Its system transactions peak at 6,500 per second and its total reliability is a remarkable 99.99%.

“Our internal research found that many executives were relying on their personal assistants (PA’s) to find the best travel deals at suitable times,” explains Jim Weighell, Sure Corporate’s Manager. “While a number of companies choose to use Sure Corporate directly, there are a few of clients who wanted to handle their own travel arrangements in-house, hence the development of AeTM.

“It is important to note that AeTM is not a website booking engine, such as one deployed by airlines, hotels and other suppliers. Rather, AeTM is a full service travel management system designed for corporate and business travel, offering price comparisons from multiple sources on a single screen, allowing companies various controls over their travel requirements from an internal perspective.”

The system offers efficient travel management through various automated, seamless processes. These include controlled access to relevant travel content, user friendly ergonomics and entry formats, and confidentiality and reliability of data and systems. Further, it provides global online booking solutions for the business travel market, and full spectrum automated travel management for businesses of all sizes.

“We have no doubt that this product will revolutionise corporate travel and we are very excited to be able to offer this highly advanced system to customers in need of a full, end to end, e-procurement solution. Now PA’s or company travel managers can have complete administrative control and management of their company travel policy, expenditure, and travellers – both locally and worldwide,” explains Abigail Cropper, Sure Corporate AeTM manager.

Company travel managers are able to gain several benefits from this system, including reliable and flexible software with 98.5% up time, content inclusive of negotiated private fares, and GDS (global distribution system) and web-only fares and schedules. It also allows them to have comprehensive, pre-trip approval, customised reporting, as well as SAP and Oracle interface options at an additional cost and subject to requirement.

“The benefits are not only for the companies’ travel requirements but travellers also gain significant benefit, with better control over travel arrangements through localised content, and a user-friendly, and an easy to use interface which allows one to have more choice, resulting in less time being spent arranging travel bookings. Further, AeTM delivers unrivalled financial control through effective reporting and cost management tools,” concludes Cropper.

With this programme it is understandable that more and more corporate companies in South Africa are subscribing to Sure Corporate’s AeTM as availability of online services are as high as 99.5%, with access to 508 airlines, including 27 low cost carriers and flight information on another 282 airlines. The system also provides further access to 42 car providers, over 30,000 rental locations, and over 57,000 hotels worldwide within 239 chains.
