Soccer World Cup lodging websites, why should home owners list with you?
Previously I did a blog post titled ‘Where are the 2010 soccer world cup fans, private property owners?’ where I highlighted the mushrooming of accommodation portals ‘promising’ to help private properties secure bookings. Match Hospitality, the FIFA appointed booking agency, only handles graded hospitality establishments.
Home owners are offering their homes to visiting soccer fans for a fee and are looking for service providers who will bring them those soccer fans. It is therefore important for service providers to declare how they’re able to get soccer fans through their websites.
Equally important, is what these service providers are charging home owners? This will guide home owners to know if it’s a ‘Return On Investment’ to list with a particular lodging portal. Over promising by service providers and under delivering is a sin in my books…
Am inviting ALL 2010 accommodation websites, to introduce themselves and let home owners know what is unique with their offering compared to other service providers.

Good Question Vuzi; one no one has answered. There may be more of these listing websites and portals than accommodation. Every day we get invited to list with a new one. What happens to http://www.bestsocceraccomodationinsouthafrica.co.za after July??
That is the point Dennis, I'm aware that there is a flood of these websites. I'm trying to let these operators open their cards and declare what is on offer. My guess is they'll disappear after the world cup since they came into being exclusively for the event.

Hi, my name is Sari M. and I am writing on behalf of the short term home rental website http://www.istopover.com. I am current working as a customer service representative/PR agent for this accommodations website. We offer a variety of short term home rentals i.e. rooms, apartments and B&B type accommodations. IStopOver basically acts as an introductory service where guests rent directly from home owners. We offer home rentals around the world and really give travelers a chance to save money as they travel the world. They get a unique experience when renting from home owners as opposed to staying at a traditional, more expensive hotel.
The way that most fans get to our site is through search engine optimization. When travelers type in World Cup accommodations to a search engine, our site is one of the first ones listed in the results. Also, we have many ads displayed on soccer fans' websites. There are also a number of soccer websites that we have partnered with, which helps spread the word about IStopOver.
The great thing about IStopOver is that we do not charge home owners a fee. It costs 0 dollars to create a listing for a person's home.
IStopOver has over 3000 listings to choose from and we have had over 1000 confirmed bookings.
