Travel Guard unites Chartis travel insurance products globally

Chartis Inc., the leading property-casualty and general insurance organisation, said all of its worldwide travel businesses have begun operating under the brand name Travel Guard.

All Chartis travel sales and operations worldwide, including those in South Africa, will be unified under the Travel Guard brand and will be positioned as Travel Guard, a Chartis company.

“Previously, Chartis used a number of different brands for its travel insurance products and services worldwide,” said Thamsanqa Ndebele, Regional Travel Manager of Chartis Africa Region.

“Over the coming months, Travel Guard will transition its brand, logo and marketing to reflect its relationship with Chartis. This will create a more integrated global organisation that will benefit all our stakeholders.”

Jeffrey C. Rutledge has been named Chairman and CEO of Travel Guard Worldwide Inc. His appointment and the launch of Travel Guard globally further establish Travel Guard as a brand that signifies innovative travel insurance products and attentive client service worldwide.

Chartis was spun off from AIG Inc. on 27 July this year. Travel Guard South Africa offers a number of travel insurance products including options for business, leisure and student travellers as well as credit card top up, which enhances the insurance offered automatically by some credit cards when booking a trip.
