V Australia, Sir Richard Branson’s new boutique long-haul airline, is pleased to announce the appointment of Isabel Hancock as its Regional Commercial Manager, Southern Africa.
Ms Hancock joins V Australia with the benefit of more than 20 years experience in aviation, with Swissair and Swiss International Airlines in South Africa, including stints as Chairman of the Board of Airline Representatives of South Africa and serving as a Trustee and a Director of the Board of Aviation Co-ordination Services.
“We are delighted to have Isabel join the V Australia team,” said the airline’s Executive General Manager Scott Swift.
“Having started her career as a travel consultant before moving into aviation to progress through a range of management positions, Isabel is uniquely experienced to be the best possible person to represent V Australia’s commercial interests in Southern Africa,” he added.
Ms Hancock will have wide-ranging responsibilities including liaison with regulatory authorities and government agencies; overseeing ground handling and General Sales Agent arrangements; corporate sector business development; retail and wholesale travel industry liaison and marketing initiatives for the region.
V Australia will inaugurate flights from Johannesburg to Melbourne on 13 March, 2010. Bookings can be made through IATA accredited travel agents and the airline’s website. From Melbourne, domestic connections operate to numerous major Australian cities and towns as well as to New Zealand on services operated by award winning sister carriers Virgin Blue and Pacific Blue.
