Carol Lazar to run workshops at the World Holiday and Travel Fair

It’s tantalising travel time with The Star and World Holiday and Travel Fair (WHTF) presented by International Banking from Absa, set to take place at the Coca-Cola dome in Johannesburg from 16 to 18 April 2010. Hosted by leading exhibitions group, Thebe Exhibitions and Projects (Thebe), WHTF is the only international outbound event where visitors will not only get information on international and regional travel and holiday options, but where they will be able to book and pay for their holiday on the spot!

The aim of WHTF is to bring affordable travel to all South Africans and provide a world of travel and holiday choices for the entire family. Visitors will be able to see the world in a single venue and experience international hospitality to entice them to, literally, ‘travel the globe’. They will benefit from special deals, packages and discounts from the many exhibitors.

“Innovation and creativity is driving our preparations for the show to ensure the experience of a lifetime and fun for the whole family”, comments General Manager, Glynis Anderson. “After all, the show is about one of life’s necessities, holiday and travel.”

But planning a holiday can be as much of a headache as it should be fun. Sharing her travel experiences and providing tips for making each and every stage of planning your holiday part of the journey, the WHTF team is proud to introduce Carol Lazar as their “WHTF Travel Guru”.

Carol Lazar is the travel editor of The Star and Saturday Star and a well-known humorous columnist. She is the author of two books one on politics, the other on travel. She is so passionate about travel that she would rather be sitting on a plane heading towards the outer regions of Siberia rather than sharing a bubble bath with Brad Pitt! Her other passion is scuba diving. She is a failed kite surfer and holds the record for skiing the longest slope in the French alpine resort of Tignes on her bottom. On her travels she has consumed tarantulas (deep-fried) in Uganda, snake in China and mopane worms in Botswana. The worst thing ever to pass her lips is curdled yak milk. She is able to sleep standing up and is perfecting the art of sleeping with her eyes open…

The World Holiday & Travel Fair 2010 is the place to be if you intend to travel soon. Great food, entertainment and holiday and travel options will add further excitement and lure you into booking that dream holiday.

Be sure not to miss our “Travel Guru’s” tips and advice leading up to and during this exciting Fair, with exciting workshops offered by Carol over the course of the three days!
