Tourvest Duty Free appoints Max Williams
Tourvest Duty Free (TDF), the in-flight sales business of Tourvest’s Retail Merchandising division, has appointed Max Williams as head of international business development. Based in the United Kingdom, Williams will be responsible for developing TDF’s business outside Africa.
Williams, who has over 19 years’ experience in the travel retail industry, joins Tourvest from Ultramarine Partnership Limited where he was managing director. Williams has previously held positions with leading operators including Virgin Atlantic Airways, World Duty Free In-flight (BAA), FlightStore (Interactive in-flight retailer) and Alpha In-flight Retail. Williams is also widely known as the founder of ARC (Airline Retail Conference) which is an international event attracting airlines, concessionaires and suppliers from within Asia, Middle East, Europe and America.
On his appointment with Tourvest; Williams said “I am delighted to join the team at Tourvest and to drive their global vision forward, which will be achieved by developing further services to meet the needs of each individual airline operator. I have always enjoyed working with companies that are actively progressive and I look forward to the challenges ahead”.
Williams will report to Selwyn Grimsley (CEO) and will work closely with the management executive team both in South Africa and the UK.
