Rate your lodging experience online
AA Travel Guides, manager of the annual AA Travel Guides American Express Accommodation Awards programme, has announced that consumers can now rate their experiences at tourist accommodation establishments online.
Now in its 17th year, the awards programme has become a reliable quality indicator for tourists when choosing a place to stay.
Vanessa Sand, Managing Director of AA Travel Guides says in the past consumers had to complete questionnaires by hand. “We’ve received up to 47 000 questionnaires in one year, which were returned to us by participating establishments for capturing. However, we are now making it far easier for guests by offering online options to voice their opinions.”
AA Travel Guides has partnered with Rate-It and eGuestSurv. Guests who have already stayed at participating establishments receive an e-mail from either one of these companies asking them to complete an online survey, the results of which are processed and sent to AA Travel Guides. “This holds huge internal value for any establishment as guest comments and scores are returned to them, assisting managers in running their businesses.
“We therefore appeal to guests to take a few minutes to complete the online survey once they receive the e-mail request. All comments help to maintain or increase the standards of accommodation in South Africa.”
Consumers can also give feedback about their stay on AA Travel Guides’ own website – www.aatravel.co.za or on www.rate-it.co.za.
Holidaymakers have until 31 January 2010 to comment on their experiences, allowing enough time for scoring and personal visits before the awards ceremony in Durban on 9 May.
Establishments that participate in the awards programme are either members of the AA Quality Assured Programme or the National Star Grading System.
