Pezula Spa takes home coveted SpaFinder Readers’ Choice Crystal Award

Pezula Spa & Gym at Pezula Resort Hotel & Spa in Knysna in the Western Cape, has been honoured with a 2009 SpaFinder Readers’ Choice Crystal Award for being named spa-goers’ favourite spa in Africa. Based on over 360,000 votes – a record for the awards programme – submitted by readers of SpaFinder publications (including Spafinder.com), the awards represent the most complete consumer assessment of the global spa market.
The award comes hot on the heels of the Best Overseas Hotel Spa award received by Pezula Spa last month in the Condé Nast Traveller Readers’ Travel Awards.
According to SpaFinder, Inc. president Susie Ellis, throughout the year SpaFinder readers and web visitors around the world were asked to vote on their favourite spas overall – by continent and region/country. Voters were asked to only cast ballots for destination spas they have personally visited within the past three years.
Said Ellis: “After seven years of enthusiastic consumer participation, our Readers’ Choice Awards have become firmly established as the industry’s premier awards programme. And with roughly 15,000 hotel, resort and destination spas operating worldwide today, for Pezula Spa to be singled out as the top spa in Africa, represents an extraordinary, historic achievement.”
Russel Binks, Pezula’s Hospitality Director said that it was a great honour to receive this recognition from the world’s largest spa media and marketing company. “I have no doubt that it is a direct result of the extraordinary team that we have running the spa under spa manager Corli Schoeman.”
