Tourvest confirms 65,000 bookings for 2010 FIFA Soccer World Cup
Tourvest Inbound Operations (TIO), the inbound destination management division of the Tourvest Group, has secured reservations for over 65 000 people for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, says TIO chief executive Martin Wiest.
TIO has signed agreements with six of the event’s major sponsors, including Coca Cola, Adidas through Cip Marketing, Castrol through Kempster, First National Bank, MTN through Octagon/Sportsword and Continental through Interface Marketing.
TIO has committed a substantial amount to secure the bookings for 65 000 people for the World Cup and build the necessary infrastructure to manage these people.
“We believe our business model can be exported to future sporting events, such as the Rugby World Cups and the Olympics allowing us to extend our global footprint,” he says.
