Nominations opens for HICA Awards 2009

Have you submitted your nomination form, for the 2009 HICA Awards? If not, log on to our HICA website, complete and submit your nomination form NOW.
Based on your nominations, the 2009 HICA awards will be presented to finalists, who are industry leaders in their own right, at the third annual Hospitality Investment Conference Africa (HICA) , to be held at the Sandton Sun Hotel, Johannesburg from 4 to 6 November. The Awards are important because they foster a sense of unity towards realising a shared vision of growth and innovation within the Southern African hospitality industry.
Once again, the TBCSA has teamed up with Grant Thornton Strategic Solutions to carry out the verification process. The awards main objective is to recognise and reward companies and individuals who have made an extraordinary contribution to enhancing the profile of the hospitality industry in Southern Africa through promoting growth, investment, innovation and excellence, across all tourism sectors.
The Awards are composed on four categories:
- Best New Hotel Development and Innovation Award
- A Leadership Award
- Excellence in Travel and Tourism Reporting
- Upcoming “Mover and Shaker” Award
Previous HICA awards recipients include, Gondwana Desert Collection (from Namibia), Helen Ueckerman of Sake Rapport, Protea Fire and Ice (Western Cape, South Africa) and Dr. Bill Gallagher, who was honoured with a Lifetime Achievers Award for his contribution to the hospitality sector in South Africa.
