5 Reasons to visit Lesotho this winter:
1. Snow: The snow-capped Maluti mountains create an inviting retreat for a southern hemisphere Christmas in July celebration. Snuggle up in front of a roaring fire by night and explore the rocky trails of the Tsehlanyane National Park by day.
2. Affordability: Lesotho offers a vibrant and eclectic culture, breathtaking natural scenery and warm African hospitality at very competitive rates. Click here to view the costs for a family getaway.
3. Local is lekker: Visit another country without leaving South African borders. While Lesotho is an independent country it is surrounded entirely by South Africa.
4. The home of the Basotho pony: The rocky Lesotho landscape has given creation to the steady and sure-footed Basotho pony. The remarkable creatures are not found anywhere else in the world and are experts at negotiating their way up treacherous mountain paths in thick snow. Maliba offers three different pony trails for guests to enjoy as well as a pony trekking package.
5. The adventure of a lifetime: Whether you bundu-bash your way up to Sani Pass in the family 4×4 or fly into Maseru Airport for a romantic escape. You can rest assured that the sights and scenes of Lesotho will quell your adventurous spirit. An ideal location for outdoor enthusiasts, Maliba offers a variety of nature trails and hiking options for guests to enjoy.
