Steenberg hosts gourmet cuisine and fine wine weekend

John Loubser, Cellar Master and General Manager at the Steenberg Wine Estate in the Constantia Valley will host a weekend of fine wine and gourmet dining on the Garden Route in the scenic seaside village of Wilderness, from Friday 31 July to Sunday 2 August.

Held in the picturesque setting of the Palms Wilderness Retreat, the event will run over 2 nights and will include accommodation and breakfast, as well as wine tastings and gourmet dinners prepared by Head Chef Lexa Timothy,  matched with wines from the Steenberg portfolio.  Together with host Vicky Nel of Palms Wilderness Retreat, John Loubser will be on hand to add a touch of the extraordinary with insights into Steenberg Vineyards and the art of wine making and wine selection, as well as food and wine pairing.

Free time may be spent exploring the spectacular gardens at this charming retreat, and the village of Wilderness with its beautiful unspoilt beach and tranquil lagoon. Golf is available at many of the renowned golf courses nearby, or gourmands may just want to relax beside the pool and soak up the winter rays and the beautiful setting to shake off city stress.

A very special treat awaits food-lovers and wine connoisseurs who participate in this culinary weekend, with each guest receiving a signed copy of Tortoises & Tumbleweeds by respected food and wine expert, author and all-round food guru, Lannice Snyman.
