SA Tourism welcomes 115 Miss World delegates

Johannesburg  – South African Tourism welcomes 115 of the world’s most beautiful women to its shores in the build up to the Miss World pageant taking place in early December.

Says Moeketsi Mosola, CEO of South African Tourism: “It is our greatest pleasure to host the Miss World pageant and we are so happy to welcome all the delegates to South Africa and hope they have the opportunity to embrace the warm hospitality and beauty the country has to offer.”

The delegates are currently in South Africa as part of the Miss World Festival which sees them visiting different parts of the country. They are involved in a number of high profile events including the Miss World Charity Auction, the Miss World Charity Dinner and the Miss World Children’s Party.

The pageant will be broadcast to an international audience reaching more than two billion people in 200 countries giving South Africa an opportunity to showcase itself as a leading leisure destination as well as demonstrate the country’s capability of hosting mega-events in the lead up to 2010.

“We wish all delegates the very best and hope that they have a memorable time in South Africa. I am certain they will take home an enriched view of our country and will return again to further explore the treasures of the destination,” concludes Mosola.

The Miss World pageant takes place on 13 December at the Sandton Convention Centre.
