1Time unveils passenger travel insurance
Johannesburg - 1time Airline on Tuesday announced another South African airline first. This time the carrier will be offering their passengers travel insurance cover for their trip.“With the growing need for passengers to cover themselves against baggage pilferage at South African airports and other travel related risks, which are beyond the control of the airlines, 1time has taken the initiative in arranging a travel insurance product which is underwritten by AIG South Africa Ltd,” explains Rodney James, CEO of 1time Airline. “Once again it is a first for the South African airline industry and who better to offer it than ourselves as we are constantly the leaders in aviation innovation.”
The new addition forms part of 1time’s new Bells & Whistles section on their website, which also allows passengers to buy catering vouchers, book into their premier lounges and have their itinerary sent to them via SMS.
Once a passenger has selected the R25 per sector insurance option, 1time’s website contacts the AIG computer system, which immediately sends a confirmation to the passenger directly from AIG. The insurance cover is available for all 1time travellers, whether they travel for business or for pleasure.
“We’re very excited about this offering, as it offers our passengers another innovative product to make their travels ‘More nice. Less price’,” says Rodney.
The insurance covers a variety of travel claims, including bag pilferage and time delays. The time delays offerings cover trip cancellation benefits under certain conditions as well as a R375 per 6 hour flight delay benefit. Should any passenger wish to claim from 1time, regarding their policy, the forms are available on their website.
Passengers wishing to take 1time and AIG up on this exciting offer, need only head to the website and book their ticket to any 1time destination.
