TBCSA unveils second hospitality investment conference

  • Google Buzz

Pretoria – The country’s body for organised tourism businesses – Tourism Business Council of South Africa (TBCSA) – is proudly announcing the second Hospitality Investment Conference Africa (HICA), if you are interested in finding out why Africa is leading the global growth in tourism and is the next biggest investment opportunity – register before 16 June 2008 to qualify for “early bird” discount. This according to Mmatšatši Marobe, Chief Executive Officer of the Tourism Business Council of South Africa (TBCSA) – organisers of HICA, who says the conference, will once again strive to present a networking platform for new investors in tourism, attract developers and financial institutions in an effort to profile Africa as a viable investment destination.

She says a surge in African tourism shows great potential and opportunities. “But despite all this, Africa has not attracted expected levels of both domestic and foreign investment – This is the reason why an idea for a conference of this magnitude was conceived last year to share world trends, in an effort to align the continent to international best practices in ensuring economic efficiency for the continent,” says Marobe.

The conference is scheduled to take place from 28 to 29 September 2008.

Marobe says the TBCSA is at the moment busy putting together high powered international speakers to address the conference.

She says a dedicated website for the conference is now live. Please visit the site at www.hica.co.za “We are also proud to announce that the TBCSA and TOMSA members’ interest in attending the conference will qualify for discounted rates.”

Marobe says this another way of ensuring that our members are  provided with a real insight into the global tourism arena and are familiar with the evolution of tourism in the new millennium, the changing demographics of the sector and the impact on travel trends.”

The conference is endorsed by the United Nations World Tourism Organisation, World Travel and Tourism Council, to name but a few.
