1Time bags in more awards
Johannesburg – It has certainly been a successful year fro 1time Airline, they listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, carried a record 1.3 million passengers and completely dominated at the Airports Company of South Africa’s (ACSA) Feather Awards for best low cost airline. “It certainly is an honour for us to have been recognized in this capacity,” says Rodney James, CEO of 1time Airline. “Our goal has always been the same: to provide all our passengers with service that is ‘more nice, less price’. Receiving a Feather Award is an added bonus towards this goal and we are extremely proud to have been recognized once again this year.”
The airline scooped the awards for Best Low Cost Airline in Cape Town, Durban, George and Port Elizabeth and Best Airline for East London for 2007.
1time has a long standing winning track record with the awards. In 2004 and 2005, the carrier won best low cost airline in Durban and in Cape Town and in 2005 also claimed the best low cost carrier award for Port Elizabeth. Last year they took the awards for East London and Johannesburg.
ACSA’s Feather Awards are designed to promote excellent service on the part of service providers and stakeholders within the airline industry. The annual study which determines the winners at all ACSA airports runs on a quarterly basis, throughout the year. The results of the awards are based entirely on customer perception-based surveys using rigorous qualitative and quantitative research methods. These include face-to-face interviews and mystery shopper appraisals conducted at different times of the day and week to ensure a comprehensive spread of customer profiles and shopping periods.
“1time is honoured to have been recognised in this way and we’d like to thank ACSA for these awards as well as all the passengers that participated in the study. A big part of this award belongs to our staff, as they are the heart and soul of our airline and so a big thank you must also go to them. Our goal is to always provide “more nice, less price” and the awards show that we certainly are doing just that…we look forward to providing you all with the same excellent service in 2008,” concluded James.
