Lord Charles Hotel to undergo major refurbishment

Somerset West -  The international NH HOTELES group is to begin a significant refurbishment program of its NH The Lord Charles Hotel property located near Somerset West in the Western Cape. A two (2) year project to be completed over the quieter winter months, the main focus will be on modernizing the bathrooms as well as creating a fresh contemporary new-look of the bedrooms with the use of soft furnishings.

This winter, three of the hotel’s wings consisting of ten (10) suites, two (2) paraplegic rooms, thirty-one (31) Corporate Rooms and fifty-one (51) Luxury Standard Rooms will be completed by 31 August 2007 at a cost of R1.6 million.

The bathrooms will be completely re-styled with white Geberit sanitary ware and  chrome accent taps and handles contrasting with a selection of tiles in earth tone shades of sand, stone and beige while larger walk-in showers and new shaving mirrors will complete the new look.

The remaining 104 rooms will receive a similar upgrade in winter 2008.

‘Guests staying at NH The Lord Charles Hotel over this renovation period can be rest assured that they will not be inconvenienced. Fortunately, the hotel was designed using long separate wings that connect to a main foyer and therefore we will close off the wings affected by the construction phase and guests will be none the wiser’, comments Erik Jansen – Managing Director of NH Hoteles South Africa.
