Orion Hotels improves turnover over two months

Johannesburg – Orion Hotels and Resorts have achieved a record turnover for two consecutive months.  September results showed a 38% growth while October’s growth was 30% over the comparative months last year
“Orion Hotels & Resorts Division has broken their turnover records for two consecutive months,” said Franz Gmeiner CEO of the Orion Group.  “This is a truly remarkable performance and shows what our hotel teams are capable of.  Any business is only as successful as the people that work within that business.  Our growth is a direct result of the expertise and experience of our management and staff.  I would like to sincerely congratulate our entire hotel team on their outstanding achievement.”

Orion Hotels & Resorts encourages creativity and creative thinkers.  One of their guiding principles is, ‘Is there a better way?’  Management and staff are encouraged to constantly analyse and challenge the status quo to find ways of improving all aspects of the hotels’ operations.  “The results of the last two months certainly indicate that our motto: ‘Our business is getting better every day in every way’ remains true,” added Gmeiner.

He said that the record turnover would lead the way into the future.  As part of the groups’ expansion plans and strategy, Gmeiner envisages significant medium and long-term growth.  “I am very happy with what we have achieved in a relatively short time but there is always this constant challenge to look beyond the horizon.  International expansion is very much on our agenda at the moment and I am confident that it will happen.”

Orion Hotels and Resorts maintains a leading position as one of the largest independently owned hotel groups in Southern Africa.  Since 1999, Orion Hotels has developed into an innovative and highly respected collection of quality properties, renowned for meeting the demands of discerning international travellers, local tourists and business people.  Gmeiner places great emphasis on each hotel being able to offer high standards of service combined with a style that reflects the individuality of the hotel and its location.  The hotel group strives to provide quality service and an above average guest experience.

Orion Hotels & Resorts have a unique portfolio – the Orion Hotel Devonshire in Johannesburg, Orion Mont-aux-Sources in the Drakensberg, Orion Piggs Peak Hotel and Casino in Swaziland, Orion Hotel Promenade in Nelspruit and the Orion Safari Lodge in Rustenburg – each hotel offers a good range of leisure and conference facilities and a spectacular location.
