ACSA flights new travellers portal

Johannesburg – If you’re flying today, you might want to check on the new  web portal “Travellers Friend”.  Perhaps ground fog at your destination airport has caused flight delays. Maybe it’s rainy and cold and you need to bring an umbrella. Parking might be disrupted by construction activities, so you’ll need to get there extra early.  If you’re staying a while in your destination city, you might want to know what sport, recreation events and conferences will be on while you’re there.

If so, log onto www.travellersfriend.co.za, the new traveller service from Airports Company South Africa (ACSA).  Launched recently as party of Airports Week – 23 to 29 October – Travellers Friend is part of the company’s drive to provide world-class service to all its travellers and ensure that the airport experience is a pleasant and smooth one for every passenger who passes through its airports.

The easy to use portal offers a multitude of services for business and leisure travellers, as well as first-time flyers. Travellers can log on for live flight information, local and international news, the weather, a currency converter, forthcoming events, places to see and things to do, news and information on ACSA’s 10 airports, and travel alerts – should anything happen either locally or abroad that impacts air travel.

In addition, the service will soon be interactive.  Passengers will shortly be able to sign up to receive SMS updates on weather, flight times and the like so that even if they cant’ log on to the site, they can stay up to date on things that could affect their travels.

Given the current security environment, potential security risks and regulations are also highlighted together with tips on being safety and security conscious.

ACSA stakeholders, such as the airlines, car rental agencies and retailers are all present on the site, with links to their respective sites.

Coming soon to the site will be airport terminal maps, travellers tips, ACSA TV, music downloads and much more.
