Wizz Air opens a new base in Georgia in September 2016 and announces seven routes from Kutaisi Airport to Europe operated by an A320 aircraft

Flights will be scheduled twice a week from Kutaisi to Berlin Schönefeld, Memmingen Munich, Milan Bergamo, Dortmund, Larnaca and Sofia, and three times a week between Kutaisi and Thessaloniki, writes aeronews.com.

The lowest ticket price is on the Kutaisi – Larnaca route, starting from 25 Euros, while the remaining flight prices start from 30-40 Euros.

Owain Jones, Chief Corporate Officer of Wizz Air, declared in a press release that the company is delighted to take part in the city's economic development of Kutaisi, not only in terms of culture and tourism, but also in terms of business and manufacturing. Wizz Air believes that the investment in Georgia base through an A320 aircraft and crew will produce benefits for the local market in Georgia and for Wizz Air as well.

The new Wizz Air base will create new opportunities for jobs for professionals in the industry and will have a positive impact on the aviation industry in general. Recently, Wizz Air has been appointed with the Air Transport World's most valuable airline of the year rank (Value Airline of the Year) for his success in 2015.

With these new destinations, the Wizz Air network in Georgia reaches 11 routes to eight countries. Wizz Air has started its first base in Kutaisi in 2012 and has carried more than 500,000 passengers during this time.
