Windspeed Technologies reveals the SkyDeck concept

Technology
Windspeed Technologies Aerospace Engineering Company reveals SkyDeck innovative concept that will give onboard passengers a 360-degree view with the help of a transparent bubble cabin located on top of the plane, writes gizmag.com

The transparent arch will be made of materials similar to those used for supersonic combat aircrafts and will be accessible by lift or by stairs. Depending on the configuration, there will be one or two swivel chairs that will have a display with GPS, providing location information.
Windspeed declares that designing SkyDeck aims to create an exciting experience for owners of VIP aircrafts or business class flights in commercial aircrafts. SkyDeck could become an additional source of revenue for airlines as passengers had to pay extra for the experience.
The idea of the panoramic view chairs, located in the back of the plane came in mid 2014 and become public in May 2015. Airbus is one of the companies that have shown interest although it has not yet made an order. In order to install SkyDeck on a plane there will be needed 18 months from the time of order.
The problem of condensation on the canopy surface, that could cause fogging, will be resolved with the application of an anti-condensation film on the surface of the canopy, according to the canopy manufacturer. In addition, the canopies will also come with a UV-protection coating. The cost of a SkyDeck depends on several factors such as selecting between the options of a single or double-seat version, elevator or staircase version, wide bodied or narrow bodied aircraft, etc.
