Virgin Atlantic to Expand Codeshare Agreement with Jet Airways
Airline News
Virgin Atlantic has announced it is expanding its codeshare agreement with Jet Airways by introducing new travel options to four Indian cities.
After the deal, Virgin Atlantic customers will have the opportunity to acquire tickets to Bengaluru, Chenai, Kolkata and Hyderabad, connecting between the carrier's London Heathrow – Delhi service and Jet Airways operated flights within India.
The expanded codeshare agreement will provide customers with the increased convenience of having all of their boarding passes issued at the originating airport, regardless of their travel originating in India or the UK.
"It's extremely important to us to be able to offer our customers convenient one-stop options to get to where they want to fly," said Joe Thompson, senior vice president of network at Virgin Atlantic.
"As part of our promise to the Indian market, we are already operating a fruitful codeshare with Jet Airways between London and Mumbai and we're thrilled that our agreement is allowing us to open up a number of other popular destinations in India for our customers."
Virgin Atlantic already operates a daily Boeing 787-9 flight from London Heathrow to Delhi.
On board the Boeing – the newest aircraft in Virgin's fleet – travellers can enjoy a comfortable journey in the roomy cabin, with improved seating and extended legroom.
