TravelProducts.com introduces YouTube channel with the Emergency Sleep Kit

Travel accessories leader uses video to better educate, excite travelers with unique product
On Monday, March 5th, travel accessories company TravelProducts.com officially launched their YouTube Channel, “TravelProducts.com on YouTube.” Their first video presents a product called “The Emergency Sleep Kit,” a backpacker’s dream product aimed to help people sleep in emergencies.

Since 1996, TravelProducts.com helps travelers find the best travel solutions to make for stress-free trips. Their website consists of a myriad of travel pillows, alarm clocks, toiletry kits, and anything else the avid traveler may need. Along with the retail site, the TravelProducts.com blog shares money saving tips, city guides, product reviews, and more.

The blog was redesigned late last year, but the editors felt there was something missing. “We felt our visitors still weren’t getting the whole picture with a few of our products. Just because you see a few images doesn’t mean you understand what it can do,” says Nate Schrader, an editor for the blog. “Some products need demonstration to show how they work and what they’re capable of so the traveler can feel more confident and excited as we are about the product.”

Maggie Thistleton, the blog’s director, says video channel initiatives include new product launches like The Emergency Sleep Kit, but will also cover travel product reviews, best ways to use current products, helpful travel tutorials, and de-stressing travel tips. “We want our travelers to be one step ahead, and videos will help us reach a wider, better informed audience.”

When faced with choosing a product for the channel’s launch, Nate knew the sleep kit was due for a video. The Emergency Sleep Kit is complete with a manually inflatable mattress, thermal blanket, sleep mask, ear plugs, and even a pre-pasted toothbrush. “The product page photos weren’t showing how the mattress fit the user, and after studying abroad, I knew it was a very helpful product to most travelers.”

The video shows Nate inflating the mattress in a train station, a typical place for many delayed tourists. He says it isn’t just for backpackers; anyone who has slept anywhere but a mattress could have prevented it with the nifty travel product. See the blog for the sleep kit product review. Needless to say, they’re eager to take the road less traveled and help their visitors in the most innovative ways possible.

The Emergency Sleep Kit retails for $22.95 with free shipping over $50 and comes in bright green, pink, and blue colors. If you have any questions or would like more information, please feel free to contact them here.
