Road disaster in Egypt leaves 33 dead and 41 injured
Traffic in Egypt makes victims yet again as two tour buses carrying tourists have collided in the vicinity of Sharm El-Sheikh. The accident had a disturbing outcome with 33 people pronounced dead and 41 undergoing medical procedures.
Most of the tourists were Saudi, Yemeni and Ukrainian citizens.
Bad news keep on flowing as some of the injured are in critical condition making the death toll expectancy higher.
At first hand, it appears that one of the drivers overturned causing the accident. The event occurred in the early morning, at approximately 30 miles from Sharm El-Sheikh in Egypt.
This accident is no surprise as the Egyptian road statistics return horrific reports each week .
Incidents like this add up to the negative image the Egyptian travel industry is trying to shake off since the social movements that occurred 3 years ago in the country.
Tragic road events show a need for increased safety measures, especially in tourist dependent areas.
It is now up to the Egyptian authorities to show how they can manage the heat that comes with such a terrible event. Pressure rises high as an affirmative action is needed for boosting Egypt back to its former tourism glory.
