IMG Worlds of Adventure, the $ 1 billion indoor amusement park in Dubai has opened its door for visitors worldwide on Wednesday, CNN writes. It is the largest indoor theme park in the world and it took more than three years to be built.

Offering a truly unforgettable and incredible experience, IMG Worlds of Adventure includes a unique array of roller coasters and attractions, complemented by 28 original food and beverage (F&B) offerings and 25 retail outlets.


With a size of about 28 football fields, IMG Worlds of Adventure is the first global theme park to feature international brands Marvel and Cartoon Network, in addition to two proprietary brands, IMG Boulevard and Lost Valley - Dinosaur Adventure.


Executive co-chairmen and owners Ilyas Galadari and Mustafa Galadari declared that: “As the first international leisure and entertainment destination in Dubai, we have designed an entire world of entertainment for our guests. By offering a fully immersive indoor theme park experience in a temperature controlled environment this enables IMG Worlds of Adventure to be open all year round.”


Lennard Otto, chief executive officer of IMG Worlds of Adventure, commented: ‘We are excited to have launched the world’s largest indoor theme park today, which will be a major tourism attraction for Dubai, the surrounding regions and the rest of the world. As the first international theme park to open in Dubai, we expect to host over 4.5 million people in our first year of operation, transforming the entertainment and leisure industry forever. We look forward to welcoming everyone in the coming days, weeks and months."


The amusement park is one of the many projects created in Dubai in order to increase the number of tourists in the UAE, after the falling prices for oil in the Gulf. According to analysts, about 18 million people would visit amusement centers in Dubai by 2021, the cited source.
