Terror alert leads to cruise ship cancellations in Bali

Cruise News

Cruise ships continue cancellations of port calls to Bali due to terror warnings issued by Australia and UK

Celebrity Solstice, Celebrity Millenium and Radiance of the Seas are among Royal Caribbean Cruises ships that announced cancellation of their port stops in Bali and change of their itineraries, as a consequence of the terror threat on the island.

Royal Caribbean Cruises representatives explained the decision in an official statement:

“Our guests’ vacation time is precious and we did not take these decisions lightly. The safety of our guests and crew is always our foremost concern. We will continue to monitor the security situation in Indonesia and will notify guests or their travel agents if there are changes to future sailings that visit Indonesia.”

Following the January 14th terrorist attack in Jakarta, Australia's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade has issued an advisory for Indonesia on February 25, urging tourists to be highly cautious when visiting this destination.

“The travel advice for Indonesia is aimed at assisting Australians to make their own safe travel decisions. The advice represents the best assessment of the risks - it is kept under constant review and is updated as required”, DFAT's spokesman declared.
